iGroZa Terms of Use
Effective date: [[DD Month 2026]]
1. About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and [[legal name]] ("iGroZa", "we", "us") for your use of the iGroZa app and the igroza.com websites (together, the "Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the Service.
Supplier information (ECTA s43):
- Legal name and status: [[legal name and status, e.g. private company]]
- Registration number: [[number]]
- Physical address: [[address]]
- Email: support@igroza.com
- Website: igroza.com
2. What iGroZa is, and what it isn't
iGroZa helps you plan grocery shopping. You can scan or search products, keep a basket (Ghost Cart) with a running total and an optional budget, make shopping lists, watch prices, and see nearby stores.
- iGroZa is a planning tool, not a shop. You can't buy anything through iGroZa. Your basket total is an estimate, not a quote, an order or a bill.
- We're independent. We aren't affiliated with or endorsed by Checkers, Shoprite, Pick n Pay, Woolworths, SPAR or any other retailer. Their names and logos belong to their owners and are used only to identify where a price comes from.
3. About prices
- Where prices come from: each retailer's own public website or other identified sources. We show them with the store and the date they were checked.
- Prices can change at any time, and a store's shelf price may differ from its online price, by branch, or because of stock, promotions or loyalty conditions. Always check the price at the till.
- We don't make up prices, specials or savings. A "Save R…" label appears only where the retailer itself showed a previous price.
- We try hard to be accurate, but we can't promise every price is current, complete or correct. We're not responsible for a retailer's pricing decisions.
- Prices you record yourself ("shelf prices") are your own notes. They're private to your account and labelled as yours.
4. Your account
- You must be 18 or older and give accurate information.
- Keep your password safe. You're responsible for activity on your account. Tell us at once if you think someone else has used it.
- You can delete your account at any time (Account → Delete account, or by emailing support@igroza.com). See how account deletion works.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- copy, scrape, harvest or resell the Service's data or catalogue, or access it with automated tools other than the app;
- interfere with or overload the Service, probe its security, or get around its limits;
- reverse-engineer the app, except where the law allows;
- use the Service for anything unlawful, misleading or harmful;
- impersonate anyone or use someone else's account.
We may suspend or close accounts that break these rules.
6. Your content
Content you add: lists, notes, your own items, shelf prices, and barcodes you scan that we don't recognise.
- You keep ownership of it. You give us permission to store, process and sync it to provide the Service to you.
- Missed scans and the catalogue: we may also use them (without identifying you) to find and add missing products.
- Don't add content that's unlawful or infringes someone else's rights.
7. Our content
- The app, its design, software and our compilation of the catalogue belong to [[legal name]] or our licensors.
- Some data comes from third parties under their own licences:
- store locations: © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL);
- some product information: Open Food Facts (ODbL).
8. Third-party services
Some features open other services: Google Maps or Waze for directions, your phone's share sheet, Open Food Facts for unknown barcodes, and (when enabled) Firebase for alerts. Their own terms apply, and we're not responsible for them.
9. Changes and availability
- We're improving iGroZa all the time, and features may change.
- Test versions downloaded from igroza.com are pre-release software and may have bugs.
- We aim to keep the Service available but can't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free.
- If we change these terms in an important way, we'll tell you in the app or by email before the change takes effect.
10. Liability
- The Service is free and provided "as is".
- To the extent the law (including the CPA) allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss arising from:
- a price, special or availability shown in the app that turns out to be different in store;
- a store location or distance (distances are approximate and straight-line);
- your reliance on an estimated basket total.
- Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the CPA or other law that can't be limited, or our liability for gross negligence or wilful misconduct.
11. Ending your use
You can stop using iGroZa and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if we have to by law. Where possible, we'll give you notice and a chance to download your data first.
12. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa. Please contact support@igroza.com first; we'll try to resolve any complaint within [[20 business days]]. If that doesn't work:
- you may approach the National Consumer Commission or another applicable ombud;
- any dispute falls under the jurisdiction of the South African courts.
